In harmonizing the foregoing the student will have discovered that, after all, a Second Inversion is about as easy to manage as anything else.
Whenever the Fifth of the Scale is found twice in the Bass, consecutively, a Second InĀversion of the Tonic, followed by the Dominant, seems to be indicated. Consequently, let the student, who is already familiar with the use of the First Inversion, harmonize the following Basses to suit himself, bearing in mind, of course, that they must sound well. |
